Please email support@mural.co to set up a sandbox testing account with the correct access.
The Mural sandbox environment (test.mural.co) is a place where you can test configurations of our enterprise-grade security features before implementing them in the Mural environment your team members know and use every day.
In this sandbox environment, you can test things like SSO (single sign-on) and SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) without impacting your company’s production user data or content. This is a completely separate environment from production (app.mural.co) with a separate infrastructure.
Create an account in Mural’s sandbox environment
Mural's customer support team will need to be involved in the initial setup of your sandbox company. After the initial setup is complete, you can follow these steps to ensure continued access to the sandbox for anyone in your company:
Visit test.mural.co.
Type your work email address.
Click Continue. If this is your first time logging in, you’ll be prompted to create an account.
Click Create your account.
Follow the prompts to verify your email. You’ll be asked to create an account using a password.
Note: If you’ve saved an SSO configuration in your test environment, you will be prompted to authenticate your identity using that method.
Once you’re back in Mural, review the terms and conditions. If you agree, select the I Accept Mural's terms and conditions checkbox, then click Continue.
Now, you’ll be dropped directly into a default test workspace dashboard configured by Mural’s support team. Next, reach out to Mural Support to upgrade your account to a company admin in the sandbox, which grants you access to your company dashboard and enterprise settings.
What to test
Our sandbox environment is a great place to test features before you implement them in your production environment (the one your members use). But keep in mind that it’s intended for testing enterprise-grade security features and that you will not necessarily be able to completely mirror your production environment account due to certain limitations.
Here’s a list of what you can test in your test environment:
SSO.
SCIM.
Workspace configurations.
IP allowlisting.
File restrictions.
Billing groups.
Guest management.
Idle timeout.
Session management.
2FA (two-factor authentication).
The following features are not supported in this environment:
Data residency.
Third-party integrations.
Mural mobile apps.
Company insight pages and reports.
Read APIs (e.g., eDiscovery, Audit Logs).
Please reach out to your Mural customer success representative if you encounter an unsupported use case.
The purpose of this environment is to test enterprise-grade features exclusively, and it is not suitable for activities such as penetration or load testing. We also do not engage in the creation of fake users or content, nor do we perform any wiping process.
