Area option menus
Use area option menus to change an area’s formatting, canvas arrangement, and more.

Areas aren’t just there to hold your content. You can also customize their look and feel using the formatting toolbar and context menu. Here, you can change the color, add a border, and even copy the area and its contents.

When you add or click to select an area, the formatting menu automatically pops up:

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll find in an area’s formatting menu:

A. Move

Click and drag to move the area around the canvas.

B. Lock

Locks the area to prevent unwanted edits. You can choose to allow other collaborators to unlock it or only allow facilitators to unlock it.

C. Zoom to

Immediately zooms to an up-close view of the area for easy editing.

D. Font size

A- makes the area title smaller. A+ makes the area title larger.

E. Background color

Lets you select a background color for your area.

F. Border color

Lets you select a color for your area’s border.

G. Border width

Lets you select a width for your area’s border.

H. Dash border

Changes your area’s border from solid to dash.

I. Toggle title

Displays or hides your area title.

J. Area layout

Toggles between a freeform layout and a grid layout.

K. Absorb

Brings any objects beneath your area on the canvas into your area.

When you right-click on an area, you'll see the context menu. This menu lets you add a comment, lock the area, see who created the area, and more.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll find in an area’s context menu:

A. Show info

Shows who created the area and who last modified it.

B. Copy link to object

Creates a hyperlink that leads directly to the area.

C. Add sticky note

Adds a new sticky note into your area.

D. Add heading

Adds a new heading into your area.

E. Add comment

Adds a comment to the area. You can tag other collaborators directly to get your questions answered.

F. Bring to front/send to back

Arranges behind or in front of other objects on the canvas.

G. Duplicate

Immediately creates a copy of the area and its contents.

H. Lock/unlock

Locks the area to prevent unwanted edits. You can choose to allow other collaborators to unlock it or only allow facilitators to unlock it.

I. Edit title

Lets you edit the title of your area.

J. Copy/paste style

Copies the style of your area, including border color, width and more. You can then paste this style to another area on your canvas.

K. Add to outline

Adds a bookmark of this area to the mural outline.

L. Save to content library

Stores this area in your content library for easy access later if you want to reuse it.

M. Download as

Opens the download menu where you can choose a file format and what content to download from your mural.

N. Integration actions

Depending on which integrations you have enabled, you'll see various options for those here.

O. Delete

Removes the area from your canvas.
