Unless you created your mural from a template, your outline starts off blank. But, with all of your great ideas, it won’t stay blank for long.

You can add areas, frameworks, or groups of objects to the outline. But you can also add individual objects, including sticky notes or paragraphs. Just remember that when a collaborator clicks the outline step, their view automatically zooms in on the associated object(s).

To add content to the outline:

  1. Select an object or area on your canvas.

  2. Right-click on your selected object(s).

  3. Select Add to outline.

  4. Type a name for your new outline step.

  5. Press Enter or Return.

Now, your selection has its own spot on the outline. You can rearrange steps by clicking and dragging them into the order of your choice. Deleting an object or area on the canvas that appears on the outline will automatically delete it from the outline.

You can also add substeps on your outline for more organization. Steps on your outline become substeps if they’re part of an existing step on your outline. For example, let’s say you have an area within an area on your canvas. Adding both areas to the outline will result in a substep. Here’s how that looks in the outline:
