A guest is a registered user that does not have full access to the collaboration features and content available in your plan.

Here’s a breakdown of what a guest can and cannot do in Mural.

  • Accept invitations to join workspaces, rooms, and murals.

  • View and edit specific murals they’ve been granted access to.

  • View and edit murals in open, private, or confidential rooms they've been invited to.

  • Access workspaces they've been invited to.

    Note: Inviting a guest to a workspace doesn’t grant them access to individual rooms or murals. To grant access to rooms and murals, you must also invite a guest to join them.

  • Access Facilitation Superpowers® (on Enterprise plans only).

  • Receive Slack or e-mail notifications about their Mural collaboration.

  • Share a mural.

  • Access rooms without an invitation.

  • Set workspace settings or company-wide settings.

  • Manage workspace member permissions.

  • Create rooms.

  • Create murals.

  • Duplicate rooms or murals.

  • Publish and use templates.

  • Export content.

  • Connect integrations.

Note: An administrator can work with a Mural Support representative to activate, deactivate, or fully disable guest permissions at any time.

How do I invite a guest?

  • From the Members and guests tab on the Share modal in a mural.

  • Or, via the settings at the workspace, room, or mural level.

Who can invite a guest?

  • Workspace admins and room admins can invite guests to the workspace or room, respectively.

  • Mural owners can invite a guest to their mural.

  • Other members can invite guests (unless restricted in settings).

Guests cannot invite other guests.

Which Mural plans allow guests?

  • Guests are only available on our Enterprise, Business, Education, or Consultant plans.

  • Enterprise and Business customers can invite an unlimited number of guests as part of their plan.

  • Education customers and Consultant partners can invite a limited number of guests.

Guests are not available in Free or Teams+ plans.
