Butter is an all-in-one video conferencing platform built to facilitate more delightful, interactive, and effective online workshops without switching between tools. With the MURAL App for Butter, facilitators can take problem-solving sessions, team-planning workshops, and collaboration to the next level with a mural directly embedded in Butter.

How does the Butter integration work?

The Butter integration makes it easy for MURAL members to insert murals right into their collaborative Butter sessions without needing to switch between tabs. You can use existing murals, start with a blank mural, or find inspiration from our MURAL templates.

Troubleshoot the Butter integration

Here are some commonly asked questions with MURAL’s Butter integration:

  • Do I need a Butter account to use the integration?

To host a session, yes. But, any participant can join a session, even if they don’t have a Butter account. To sign up for a free Butter account, go here.

  • Do I need a MURAL account to use the integration?

Yes and no. Facilitators need a MURAL account to add a mural into a session or into your Butter Toolbox. But, any participant in Butter can collaborate on a mural, even if they don’t have a MURAL account.

  • Can Butter collaborators access my mural, even if they aren’t MURAL members?

Yes, they can! The only difference is that MURAL members will show up with their actual names on the mural canvas. Visitors will have fun visitor names, like “Visiting Bear” or “Visiting Hippo.”

  • I’m an Enterprise customer and this integration isn’t working for me. Why?

The admin for your Enterprise plan must enable the integration from the Integrations tab on their company dashboard.

  • What happens if visitor permissions are disabled for my mural?

Collaborators who aren’t MURAL members will get an error pop-up telling them that access has been denied. Visitors would need to ask the host to provide visitor access to the mural.
