Tips for using the the MURAL app for Webex Meetings
Visual thinking and Facilitation Superpowers™ features
The MURAL app for Webex Meetings offers the same set of powerful visual collaboration tools as the MURAL web app. You can add sticky notes, draw, add shapes, diagrams, use the content library, expand the size of the canvas, and much more.
You can also use Facilitation Superpowers to summon collaborators, vote, work in private mode, and much more.
You’ll notice that you will only see avatars when other collaborators are in the mural at the same time. Avatars are typically displayed at the bottom of a mural.
To access top bar features, simply hover over the top of the mural. We’ve hidden the top bar to provide a bigger area for collaboration. Here you’ll find many Facilitation Superpowers and features—such as Comments and Find.
Sharing
Sharing the mural is easy and secure inside of Webex. The MURAL app for Webex Meetings follows the same sharing permissions as in the MURAL web app, but you’ll notice there isn’t a Share button on the top bar. To change permissions, you’ll need to go to the web app.
If visitor links are enabled for a mural, anyone who can access the Webex Meetings app can access the mural as a visitor without needing to sign in. If visitor links are disabled, anyone in the space who wants to access the mural must sign in and have permission to access it.
Navigation
Navigation within the MURAL app for Webex Meetings is the same as the web app, except that the mini-map in the bottom right corner is collapsed. Click on the collapsed mini-map to expand it and navigate around the mural.
FAQ
Can visitors access murals inside of a Webex Meetings?
Yes. They can only join existing murals in the space and visitor links must be enabled for that mural. Only members can create new tabs.
Can guests access murals through Webex?
Yes. Guests can access murals from a Webex Meeting, but they cannot create a new tab. Guests need permission to access both the mural and the Webex Meeting.
Will murals be included in my Webex meeting recordings?
No, murals aren't included in recorded Webex meetings. The workaround for now is to open the mural link in a new tab when reviewing your meeting recording.
Where are the avatars?
Avatars display when there is more than one person working in the mural. Due to limited screen space, only two participant avatars display at a time; you can scroll to see more.
Can I use Facilitation Superpowers™ in the MURAL app for Webex Meetings?
Yes! These features are located in the top bar or by clicking on the avatars. Hover over the top bar to make it appear. Avatars are only displayed when more than one collaborator is in a mural. You also need to be a facilitator in the mural to use Facilitation Superpowers.
What impact does this app have on QEM measurement?
Interactions in the MURAL app for Webex Meetings count the same as they would on the web.
When searching for a mural to add, can I sort the murals to help find what I’m looking for?
Yes. You can sort murals by last modified, last created, or oldest.
